About this scholarship

Outline

The Juris Doctor (JD) Scholarship for Indigenous Students was established to assist high achieving Indigenous students to undertake the Juris Doctor Program at UNSW.

The recipient will be allowed to hold Youth Allowance/Abstudy/Austudy and any other Commonwealth granted scholarship.

The Scholarship will be payable for a standard full-time program duration of up to 3 years, subject to the recipient's satisfactory progress over all courses. A normal full-time load for the Juris Doctor program is 24 units of credit per semester.

Eligibility

Applicants must be of Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent and undertaking the Juris Doctor program at UNSW.

Selection

Each applicant will be required to provide a statement outlining their personal attributes including their capacity for, and commitment to, the Juris Doctor program.

Preference may be given applicants in receipt of means-tested Centrelink Benefits, such as ABSTUDY, Youth Allowance, or Austudy and demonstrated commitment to the interests of Indigenous Australians. Supporting documentation must be submitted.
