The AGSM Master of Business Administration (MBA) is a full-time accelerated degree designed to prepare students for general management and executive leadership roles in business, government, or not-for-profit organisations. You'll be immersed in active learning experiences and exposed to the practical tools and skills needed to thrive in your professional endeavours. The AGSM MBA combines traditional classroom teaching with case studies and teamwork to develop the next generation of leaders.

Designed to prepare students for general management and executive leadership roles in business, government, or not-for-profit organisations. The AGSM MBA is taught by leading academics and Executives-in-Residence from renowned corporate and government companies.

You will learn from an internationally recognised faculty with industry experience, acquire management insights from current business leaders, and benefit from the knowledge of your fellow students, many of whom have worked for global organisations. The small cohort size, full-time schedule and immersive teaching model ensures you develop a strong network of peers that includes your MBA program colleagues and over 17,000 AGSM global alumni.

Once you have completed your MBA at AGSM, you'll be uniquely eligible to apply for the Yale School of Management's Master of Advanced Management (YALE MAM). A good GMAT score is required. If successful, student will complete a 9-month, full-time residential offering commencing in August at Yale after completing the MBA program at AGSM, and graduate with both the Yale MAM and the AGSM MBA.

Entry requirements

An undergraduate degree (or equivalent) and at least 2 years' full-time professional work experience are required. Candidates are required to demonstrate academic excellence in their previous studies. This can be achieved through either strong academic results from an Australian or world top-ranked university or through a strong GMAT / GRE test score. Typically, incoming students have a GMAT score of over 650, and the average GMAT score for incoming students in 2023 was 674.

English language requirements

If English isn't your first language, you may be required to provide evidence that your English language ability meets our requirements. Please refer to the UNSW English Requirements Policy for further information.

If you do need to provide evidence of your English proficiency, this will be indicated in your application. You can prove this by providing evidence that you meet one or more of the following criteria:

  • English language tests and university English courses
  • Prior study in the medium of English
  • Other qualifications

Please note: You can apply for an English waiver based on directly relevant work experience, in the relevant industry or equivalent discipline practice, in an English-speaking country or workplace where the sole language of business was English.
