The Master of Commerce will extend your knowledge gained through your Graduate Certificate in Commerce or Graduate Diploma in Commerce by enabling you to choose from a wide range of business units, and to undertake electives outside of the Business School that will complement your professional capabilities. Graduates will develop the skills to excel in problem-solving, decision-making and leading people in a range of organisational contexts. The highly flexible course allows you to fit study around your busy work and personal life. The practical and work-based nature of the content will provide you with a portfolio of work to demonstrate your professional capabilities.

Entry requirements

A candidate shall:

(a) hold an AQF Level 8 Graduate Certificate in Commerce from UNE; or

(b) hold an AQF Level 8 Graduate Diploma in Commerce from UNE.

What you will learn

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. demonstrate an advanced and integrated knowledge in a range of business disciplines;
  2. utilise advanced and integrated cognitive and communication skills, tools and digital technologies to communicate appropriately and persuasively with a range of stakeholders;
  3. apply advanced and integrated creative thinking skills and critical judgement to diagnose and analyse complex business problems, and synthesise material from a range of sources to identify solutions;
  4. research, critically evaluate and demonstrate advanced judgement in formulating responses to complex social, cultural and ethical issues in a range of organisational contexts;
  5. demonstrate a preparedness to engage in continuous learning and reflection to develop new insights into professional practice; and
  6. illustrate advanced and integrated skills in working autonomously and with others to generate solutions, including the ability to collaborate in a range of contexts to achieve individual and common goals.
