About this course

This course was previously known as Graduate Certificate in Disability.

The Graduate Certificate in Disability Practice provides knowledge and skills in accordance with the professional standards and requirements of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). It is designed for support practitioners and others employed by organisations that are delivering disability services, those seeking such employment, and students interested in the disability field from strength-based and client-focussed perspectives. Students will complete in-depth study on disability identification, management, and resourcing by investigating important issues that impact on clients, families and support personnel. Whilst all areas of study are embedded in research-derived frameworks and models, there is also a strong focus on gaining knowledge in the activities involved in daily practice. Graduates will be well prepared to participate effectively in NDIS service delivery as the anticipated demand for specialised client management continues to increase.
