About this scholarship

Applications are invited for the following scholarship leading to the degree of PhD – Global Food Studies in the Discipline of Global Food Studies, Faculty of Professions.

The scholarship is supported by The Grain Producers SA (GPSA); supporting the Peter Waite Scholarship for Excellence in Agriculture initiative.

Field of Study:  Field of studies includes agricultural economics, natural resource economics, behavioural economics and applied economics.

Eligibility: Applications are open to both domestic and international applicants who are acceptable as candidates for a PhD degree at the University of Adelaide. Candidates will also qualify for, and need to apply for an RTPS and Divisional scholarship in the Faculty of Professions in the Major round closing 31 October 2017. These scholarships have a stipend of $27,082 per annum (2018 rate) tax free for up to 3 years (indexed annually).

GPSA Stipend: The GPSA supplementary scholarship will be from 2018 to 2020 and has a stipend of $20,311 pa with $9,689 per annum for research and operating funds, which is on top of the stipend from the RTPS or  Divisional scholarship. The supplementary scholarship is likely to be tax exempt, subject to Taxation Office approval
