About this scholarship

The E W Benham Research scholarships are the result of the generosity of a bequest by Edward Warner Benham, a prominent lawyer, following the death of his widow Violet Margaret Benham.

Eligibility: Applicants must be Australian Citizens or Permanent Residents commencing a full-time Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or Masters by research program at the University of Adelaide. New scholarships shall be awarded subject to available funding. Selection will be based on grounds of academic merit, research potential and financial disadvantage. The duration of the scholarship will be three years for research towards the degree of Doctor of Philosophy and two years for a Masters by research recipient subject to continued satisfactory progress. Extensions for Doctor Philosophy recipients will be considered on a case by case basis.

Field of Research: English Literature or English Political History.

Value: Equivalent to APA I rate tax free, indexed annually.
