Masters (Coursework)
The program consists of coursework comprising core courses in the areas of Health Economics and Policy, Economic Methods and Public Policy Issues, and electives in the areas above or other approved courses. Students with at least a distinction average may also choose to complete a dissertation on a research project.
Students will be provided with a broad foundation in key economic principles and methods, as well as the opportunity to develop specialised knowledge in selected areas, such as development economics, econometrics, East Asian economies, game theory, etc. In addition to two Health Economics courses, with a focus on the principles and analytic methods of health economic evaluation, and four other complementary courses selected from a wide range of methods and policy-based courses, students also complete a group-based research project that applies taught skills to a real-world problem.
