About this scholarship
The financial support model COLFUTURO offers is a Scholarship-Loan. COLFUTURO offers each postgraduate coursework candidate up to US$50,000, and each HDR candidate up to US$300,000 (depending on the research area and the chosen university's research ranking), which may be requested in full, even if the program is one year. Candidates may be awarded scholarships for 80% of the loaned amount, provided they accomplish these requirements:
- be awarded their postgraduate degree
- return to Colombia
- and remain in the country for three to five years.

Eligibility
You're eligible if you:
- are a professional linked to an industry that promotes the COLFUTURO loan program
- have demonstrated academic excellence during your tertiary studies in Colombia.

Selection criteria
Candidates may be awarded scholarships for 80% of the loaned amount, provided they accomplish these requirements:
- be awarded their postgraduate degree
- return to Colombia
- remain in the country for three to five years.

COLFUTURO's selection process for the Loan-Scholarship Program is done yearly.

Note: HDR candidates can apply for a loan up to a maximum of $300,000 USD depending on the research area and their chosen university's research ranking. While up to $50,000 USD is available for postgraduate coursework candidates. These fees can be distributed for the purpose of airfare, living allowance, and tuition fees.
