Building from the Graduate Certificate in Clinical Nursing, this one-year Graduate Diploma of Clinical Nursing further develops your clinical nursing skills and knowledge. The program is highly practical in its nature and, as a student, you will work closely with our healthcare partners in Western Australia, with formal study done entirely online.To apply, you will need to be a current employee at one of our partner health institutions.

Entry requirements

The following entry requirements apply to this program:

  • Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia or provisional registration, whichever is applicable at the time of commencement
  • Nursing or other appropriate degree or the equivalent
  • Minimum of one year relevant post registration nursing experience
  • Candidates must be employed with a participating health service provider and have their hospital's support to undertake the program.

Clinical nursing is a specialist skill and one that is highly valued by hospitals and other healthcare facilities around the world. Here at Notre Dame, we have partnered with some of Western Australia's leading healthcare providers to develop this unique one-year program for Registered Nurses who wish to further develop their skills and knowledge of clinical nursing. You must be employed with a participating health service provider and have the hospital's support to undertake this program.

Online units include Reflective Practice, Management and Ethics of Professional Life. You must have already completed a Graduate Certificate in Clinical Nursing at Notre Dame before enrolling in this program. Upon graduation, you have the option of taking a Master of Nursing (Clinical Nursing), which requires a further two semesters of part-time study

Master of Nursing (Clinical Nursing)

This program comprises of an additional two semesters of part-time study. If you undertake a Masters degree, you will be allocated a research supervisor to support you in your research engagement in an area relevant to your specialty of nursing practice.
