The Graduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching for Higher Education is a highly-focused degree that is designed to enhance the knowledge and skills of those working (or aspiring to work) in the higher education sector. In order to work around your pre-existing commitments, this program is available in a fully facilitated online format.
Applicants must have a recognised Bachelor's degree in any discipline.
The Graduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching for Higher Education (GCLTHE) focuses on enhancing the knowledge and skills of those aspiring to develop good practice in higher education learning and teaching. You will be required to complete four compulsory courses to complete the program, which includes topics such as current perspectives on university teaching, curricula design, academic assessment and evaluation, and supervising postgraduate research. Since not all of these courses are offered in every Semester, enrolment is typically on a part-time study basis.
You will finish this program with a number of valuable skills, such as the ability to evaluate higher education literature critically, a learner-centered approach to curriculum design and delivery, better communication and teaching skills, improved digital practices, a greater capacity of collaboration with academic colleagues, and an improved ability to initiate, plan and implement a pedagogical research project.
Full details of the program requirements are contained in the Program Regulations.
