The Master of Information Systems Management is an advanced program of study that is designed to foster and develop the knowledge and capabilities of highly skilled managers who will work with information technology in management decision-making during their careers. Our graduates are leaders in digital business, technology and entrepreneurship who are applying ICT in existing businesses and industries and who are developing a new era of technology companies and applications. The degree combines the knowledge and theory of contemporary information systems management with an understanding of new and emerging digital technology. Students will learn about the methodologies and approaches that are applied in businesses to develop new IT-enabled services and have the opportunity to apply current methods for IT innovation development to real-world cases and projects.

Course structure

To qualify for the award of Master of Information Systems Management, students must complete 200 credit points comprising of:

  • 13 core units of study (162.5 credit points)
  • 3 electives from the approved list (37.5 credit points)

Credit for prior study or work

Applicants who have previously completed university-level subjects in a cognate area may be granted exemptions into the Information Systems Management programs. All exemption applications must be submitted in writing at the time of admission. Each application is considered by the program co-ordinator, who then makes recommendations to the Academic Committee.
