The Graduate Certificate of Information Systems Management is designed as a contemporary and comprehensive study of the management issues associated with the successful application of information systems and technology within business and the development and application of new technologies for business, including new technology companies and applications. It provides an entry level for professionals with an IT background seeking to advance management careers. The course focuses on the development of knowledge required for managing information technologies that will support business needs and concentrates on the development of the digital literacies needed to lead business innovation through the application of new and emerging technologies.

The Graduate Certificate of Information Systems Management helps to produce graduates who:

Course structure

To qualify for the award of Graduate Certificate of Information Systems Management, students must complete 100 credit points comprising of:

  • 7 core units of study (87.5 credit points)
  • 1 Information Systems Management elective from the approved list (12.5 credit points)

Credit for prior study or work

Applicants who have previously completed university-level subjects in a cognate area may be granted exemptions into the Information Systems Management programs. All exemption applications must be submitted in writing at the time of admission. Each application is considered by the program co-ordinator, who then makes recommendations to the Academic Committee.
