About this scholarship

The scholarship pays 100% of tuition fees for the standard full-time duration of your Juris Doctor program. Funded by the School of Graduate Business and Law, the Indigenous Juris Doctor Scholarship has been established to support students achieve their educational dreams.

Eligibility

To be eligible for this scholarship, you must:

  • identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander
  • be an Australian citizen
  • be commencing in the Juris Doctor (MC161) at RMIT Melbourne City Campus in semester 1 2023* 
  • demonstrate a commitment to Indigenous issues
  • be passionate about your study and future career
  • register with RMIT’s Ngarara Willim Centre and provide documentation confirming that you are an Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander by the scholarship application due date.

*The scholarship does not include programs through RMIT Online or via Open Universities Australia (OUA).

Application process

Complete the online application by the close date. Partial applications will not be assessed.

Supporting documentation

You will also need to provide your confirmation of Aboriginality by the application close date to the Ngarara Willim Centre by providing either:

  1. A letter stamped with the common seal and signed by board members of an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Land Council or cooperative; OR
  2. A letter stamped with the common seal and signed by a delegate of an incorporated Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander organization or cooperative.
