About this course

The Graduate Certificate in Energy Efficient and Sustainable Building course provides you with a multidisciplinary environment which will introduce you to the study of the science, design and management of sustainable buildings.

This course has been especially designed to suit the needs of current architects, engineers, project managers or other design professionals looking to gain further professional development in the build environment.

You'll receive a firm foundation to develop the skills and knowledge required to progress or diversify your professional practice or to undertake further study. For example, this is a pathway into the Master of Energy Efficient and Sustainable Building course. You'll also be able to work within the sustainable building design sector across diverse industry types and our graduates are highly sought after in the industry.

Entry requirements

You must have:

  • successfully completed an Australian Bachelor degree (or equivalent overseas qualification) in a discipline that demonstrates knowledge and skills in construction, technology, engineering, management, architecture or design; OR

  • significant work experience or professional practice related to energy efficiency, sustainability or building and construction

As a guide, significant experience would generally be a minimum of three years of experience in middle to upper management roles that related to energy efficiency, sustainability or building and construction.

To have your professional experience considered you must submit with your application a CV and a personal statement that demonstrates your academic foundation for postgraduate study. This may include details on how your professional experiences relates to the program, demonstration of critical thinking in personal and/or professional practice, and communication and problem solving skills.
