About this course

This selective-entry, research-oriented honours degree is designed for highly-motivated students who want hands-on involvement in research projects.

As an honours student, you have the opportunity to engage with research groups and provide support for their projects. It's also a pathway into higher degrees by research, such as a PhD.

In preparation for a higher degree course, you will choose to major in one of the following areas:

  • biology
  • biotechnology
  • chemistry
  • physics
  • computer science
  • geospatial science
  • applied mathematics and statistics
  • analytics
  • environmental science
  • food science.
Why study science at RMIT?
  1. RMIT's applied science degrees give you the flexibility and freedom to shape your own path and explore a broad range of scientific disciplines.
  2. Studying with leading researchers in state-of-the-art facilities means the skills you gain can take you anywhere in the world.
  3. You'll go beyond the classroom and apply what you've learned to real-life problems, gaining hands-on experience working in teams during local and international field studies and excursions.
