About this course

This course leads to two separate degrees. Depending on your specialisation, you'll graduate with a Bachelor of Music and either the:

Specialise in primary education and you'll be able to teach across the school curriculum, with particular expertise in music. Specialise in secondary education and you'll qualify as a specialist music teacher.

This degree will deepen your perspectives on the historical, creative, technical and cultural aspects of music.

On top of this, you'll specialise in performance, composition, musicology, ethnomusicology or creative music technology. In turn, you'll inspire the same passion in your students.

Combined with your education studies, you'll learn how to be an innovative and effective teacher in general, with the capacity to bring out the musical creativity in young people.

This double degree will not only prepare you for teaching in primary or secondary schools, you'll also have opportunities beyond the classroom - in settings like choirs, instrumental ensembles, school and community productions, as well as therapeutic environments.
