You'll gain in-depth knowledge and understanding of the importance of public health; and skills in leadership, teamwork and innovation; as well as practical skills that are essential to public health practice.

Key features:

  • Develop the evidence-based reasoning and informatics approaches essential to public health practice.
  • Identify and address Australia's major health concerns, including those relevant to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
  • Examine factors that impact human health, influence the global and social burden of disease, and contribute to health disparities.
  • Work in interdisciplinary teams to plan, resource, assess and evaluate public health advocacy projects.

Entry requirements

Entry requirement for 2 years (full-time, or equivalent duration if available part-time):

  • AQF level 7 bachelor’s qualification in a related field or recognised equivalent

    or
  • AQF level 7 bachelor's qualification or recognised equivalent with a WAM of 65

    or
  • AQF level 7 bachelor's qualification or recognised equivalent, and two years relevant approved work experience, professional certification or other recognised prior learning

    or
  • Eight years relevant approved work experience, professional certification or other recognised prior learning
