Applied linguistics is primarily concerned with how knowledge about language is applied to real-world issues. Key focus areas include the role of language in communication, the acquisition of first and subsequent languages, cross-cultural communication and language teaching. This internationally relevant course will develop your analytic skills and your understanding of the complex relationship between language use and context.
