Graduate Certificate of TESOL

The Graduate Certificate of TESOL is designed for prospective teachers wishing to teach English to speakers of other languages. It will prepare you for a variety of language teaching contexts in Australia and overseas. It integrates current theory and practice of TESOL, including teaching methodologies, programming and planning, and linguistics for language teaching.

• Undertake an integrated professional experience unit of 150 hours that involves a teaching practicum at an educational institution
• Learn from anywhere in the world
• Learn from teachers who are actively researching areas of TESOL and applied linguistics
• Acquire a recognised ESL/EAL specialisation on top of your teaching qualifications.

Professions include:

• English teacher (after further study)
• Language tutor in English for Specific Purposes programs
• Overseas teacher assistant (country requirements vary).

This graduate certificate comprises of four essential units (40 credit points).
