About this course

Develop essential communication skills with core subjects in strategy, media relations and issues management. Balancing work and study is easy with core subject classes held at our City campus on evenings and weekends.

Experience the world of strategic communication first-hand through Work Integrated Learning (WIL). You may have the opportunity to work directly with clients in La Trobe's Strategic Communication Agency or create media industry contacts with an internship opportunity.

You'll learn:

The qualification awarded on graduation is recognised in the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) as Level 9 - Masters Degree.

To qualify for the award of Master of Strategic Communication, students must complete a total of 240 credit points across 2 years.

Year 1 requires the completion of 120 credit points including:

  • 60 credit points from chosen Core
  • 60 credit points from chosen Electives

Year 2 requires the completion of 120 credit points including:

  • 75 credit points from chosen Core
  • 45 credit points from chosen Electives
