The Master of International Relations (Research Studies) is designed to allow students to follow their academic/research passions by undertaking a sustained piece of writing. The product is a 18,000 word thesis equivalent to an Honours Degree. As such, it can provide students with an avenue to meet the requirements to undertake Higher Degree by Research studies (HDR), such as a Masters by Research or PhD. Applicants must have successfully completed the requirements of the Master of International Relations with a B average and apply to the Course Coordinator, Dr Daniel Bray. Students who wish to take the Masters of International Relations (Research Studies) must complete the requirements for the Master of International Relations and in addition complete a further semester of study in which they will write a 18,000-word supervised thesis (60 credit points). It is a requirement that students gain a B average for the coursework component of this degree in order to progress towards thesis enrolment.
