The course is designed for aspiring educational leaders and those interested in understanding more about management and leadership within educational contexts. The focus is on improving knowledge and understanding by relating theory and best practice to participants own contexts and situations, thus enabling development of the skills and competencies necessary to refine and improve practice. Participants in the program come from a range of educational settings including higher education, TAFEs, as well as primary and secondary schools within Australia and overseas. International and comparative perspectives on organisations form a particular focus of the program. Applicants with a relevant fourth-year qualification receive 120 credit points of advanced standing and take a 120 credit point program over one year full-time or two to three years part-time. The course is available by all coursework or a combination of coursework and a minor thesis.
