There’s a global shortage of skilled ICT professionals, so qualified graduates are highly sought-after for a range of roles across multiple sectors. La Trobe’s Master of Computer Science will equip you for roles in systems and security engineering, data communications and network design, to name but a few. Our course will give you the expertise to design, program, manage, maintain and improve computer systems, particularly knowledge-based systems. When you graduate, you'll have strong leadership skills and an understanding of the social, legal and ethical issues facing computing professionals. We provide training in the software technologies required by information and communications technology professionals. Core subjects include an industry-based project and thesis, which will allow you to explore an area of interest and develop your research skills. Our wide range of electives gives you the flexibility to develop a skill-set tailored to your interests. Choose electives from areas including data mining, advanced databases, entrepreneurship, wireless network engineering and cloud computing.
