The Graduate Diploma of Professional Archaeology is a one year 120 CP course that develops skills needed for working in commercial archaeology and heritage management. It offers hands-on training in archaeological survey and excavation techniques, heritage legislation, Aboriginal and historical archaeology and business skills. Subjects are taught in block mode and online. The course may serve as a pathway into the Master of Professional Archaeology where all subjects are credited into the Masters. All subjects are taught in block mode and online. Graduates of the Graduate Diploma of Professional Archaeology apply this knowledge and skills as responsible practitioners in archaeological field research and analysis, in the development of cultural heritage management plans, and in communicating to specialist and non-specialist audiences.
