The Diploma of Arts is a one-year diploma offered to regional students who do not wish to undertake a full three-year Bachelor of Arts, for either academic or personal reasons. A full-time study load in the Diploma is 120 credit points.
The Diploma of Arts offers an introduction to post-secondary study of Humanities and Social Sciences in a supportive learning environment. The Diploma offers structured support throughout the course. Successful completion provides a seamless pathway into the second year of the Bachelor of Arts.
The Diploma of Arts will keep the traditional flexibility of the first year of the Bachelor of Arts. . The flexibility of subject offerings in the Diploma of Arts allows students to gain knowledge and skills centred on their interests and career aspirations. Through classroom discussions, individual projects, assignments and teamwork, students acquire skills to assist them for a career in a dynamic environment: creativity and flexibility, problem solving, communication skills, organisational skills and leadership.
