La Trobe’s Bachelor of Laws/Bachelor of Biomedicine is a five-year degree that gives you a professionally accredited qualification in law and a degree in biomedicine. You’ll develop high-level thinking, analytical skills and specialist legal practice for use in medical and health-related fields. This enables you to enter the legal profession and pharmaceutical and medical technology industries with distinctive skills. In the law degree, you’ll take the compulsory subjects required by the Victorian Legal Admissions Board for admission into legal practice. In addition, you’ll:In the biomedicine component of this degree, students will learn the theoretical underpinnings of biomedical disciplines such as anatomy, biochemistry and physiology to enable detailed study of the human body in health and diseases including infectious, immunological and neurodegenerative diseases and cancer.   The course also emphasizes the development of practical research and laboratory skills to enable students to both apply and undertake laboratory-based research.   Students will also learn how to convey biomedical science-based information to both scientific and lay audiences. The three Essentials - Global Citizenship, Innovation and Entrepreneurship and Sustainability Thinking - are specialist areas designed to give you an edge with employers. They will enable you to adapt your knowledge and skills to new contexts in a rapidly changing world.
