About this course

This degree delivers you a postgraduate qualification that combines the study of human movement with an understanding of how exercise is used for rehabilitation, disease management and injury prevention. You'll gain hands-on experience through at least 500 hours of clinical placement. From an exercise science perspective, you'll investigate motor control, exercise physiology, biomechanics and anatomy. You'll gain an understanding of how to modify health behaviours in the community and how exercise programs can be used to optimise performance. You'll also learn how to work with groups such as the elderly, people with disabilities and athletes undergoing rehabilitation. You'll explore how exercise is used to promote health and well-being, including the preventative and rehabilitative benefits of exercise for those with chronic illnesses or serious injuries. Your clinical placements will teach you to develop and implement exercise, lifestyle and behavioural programs for people of all ages. This gives you with the clinical skills and confidence to make a genuine difference to the quality of people's lives.
