What you will study

Students will spend the first year learning Advanced Professional Skills and selecting 7 electives from a wide range of topics including (but not limited to):

  • Restoration Ecology
  • Microbiology
  • Polymer Science and Tech
  • Geospatial Information Systems
  • Genetics
  • Bioinformatics
  • Plant Biology
  • Environmental Impact Assessment

The second year will see students undertake the Masters Research Project, and those with GPAs 5 or above will be able to undertake the Coursework with Research Component stream and deliver a Masters Research Thesis.

Practical experience

The Master of Science (Biology) degree provides you with practical experience that prepares you for the workplace:

  • Undertake research laboratory placements
  • Participate in one-on-one mentoring sessions with industry research leaders
