About this course

The Juris Doctor (JD) seeks to provide the academic knowledge and skills needed to embark upon a career as a practising lawyer but also was created in the knowledge that not all graduates want, or are able, to work as barristers or solicitors. The JD is available entirely online, in external mode enabling you to balance your study with other commitments, and study from anywhere.   Each topic comprises six tasks scheduled across the semester to guide your learning. Assessment is undertaken entirely online using video conferencing and other virtual collaboration tools.   The JD offers an innovative model of postgraduate education. It is taught in collaboration with the legal profession and provides opportunities for learning in an authentic context, with real client work experience a requirement of the course. The design of the JD with its blended learning style and adult learning principles provides flexibility that will enable you to balance your other commitments.
