Clean Technology is an emerging trend in industry and uses practices that are “green” and sustainable. Clean technologies are those that in some way use or produce renewable materials and energy sources, reduce use of natural resources (or improve efficiency), and limit or stop pollution and toxic waste. The Australian government has made an environmentally Australia a national priority. This course will provide students with an awareness of current issues and the various modern scientific and technological approaches to solving these issues. It will be of interest to people in the workforce who wish to upgrade their skills in this emerging field. Students complete specific topics in clean technology and advanced clean technology. A research project also forms a component of the course. Graduates will be prepared for employment in traditional science based industries and government laboratories and in the clean technology industries as it emerges and grows.
