Graduate Certificate
The Graduate Certificate in Gender Mainstreaming Policy and Analysis is designed to prepare students for a variety of careers where specialised knowledge is required related to the integration of gender considerations into policy making, project design and implementation, monitoring and evaluation. Gender mainstreaming is an international strategy to achieve gender equality in all aspects of society that has been gradually adopted since 1995 by many governments in developing and developed countries, including Australia. This course aims to provide students with a comprehensive knowledge of gender mainstreaming and gender analysis. It draws on best practice and case studies from around the world. As well, it provides the opportunity to focus on a specific policy area (such as public health, education, economic management, or human resources) or for students to employ this knowledge in their own workplace through an action research topic. The specialised skills the course offers in gender mainstreaming and gender analysis are applicable to public policy environments in Australia and internationally, non-government sectors. Delivery mode The course will be delivered flexibly by a combination of intensive workshops and online learning, and on-campus delivery. Students will be able to complete the course by distance education, and they will be able to undertake single topics that provide them with accreditation in specific skills. International students can only study the course on an external basis.
