My name is Tanmay Singha and currently work as a lecturer in the department of IT at Gedu College of Business Studies, Bhutan. I am applying for a PhD degree in the broad area of computer science. My aspiration to pursue a research career in the field of Computer Science has driven me to apply for this program. Because of the wide range of research areas and the formal and rigorous mathematical nature, I have been always interested to make my research career in this field. For an intellectually stimulating and satisfying research career, a strong and comprehensive background as well as complete awareness of recent developments is essential and I believe that after devoting my long-term career to such a dynamic field, it has inculcated in me. An objective analysis of my background, my strengths and weaknesses lead me to believe that I will be successful as a PhD candidate and motivated me to apply for PhD program in Australia.
Last eight years, I have been serving in the field of teaching Under Royal University of Bhutan, Bhutan. These several years of teaching experience enriched me as an academician and I strongly believe that I posses the temperament for teaching, a good power of speech and the skills to communicate my thoughts to a responsive and critical audience. But I also believe that good research can promote great teaching. A teacher can deliver his/her best when he/she is actively involved in research. That is why, last few years, I am actively participating in different research workshops, seminars and international conferences. I published two of my research papers which are now available at www.sciencedirect.com and IEEE digital Xplore library. To improve my research skills in the field of data mining & machine learning, I am highly motivated of doing my PhD research program. This program will give a strong foundation to start my long term research career. After pursuing this degree, my long term goal is to seek a teaching and research position in a research or academic institution where I can share my experiences and knowledge with others and where I can devote myself in new research works.
