Hi, my name is Ao Xiang. But you are welcome to call me Erik. I come from China, and when I was a high school student, I was interested in electronic physics. That's the reason why I chose telecommunications as my university major.
As I learned more, I found that I have always been curious enough about communication engineering. As the old saying goes, the more I know, the more I don't know. During my university years, I studied analogue electronics, digital electronics, communication principles, and fibre-optic communications. In particular, I have a great interest in computer networks and security. I also established computer network communities during my school years. After graduating from college, I was engaged in professional-related work (China High-Speed Railway Communication) until I came to Curtin University for further study.
One of the important reasons why I chose to study is that I found that my reality did not meet my expectations. Although my work in China has a good salary, it does not achieve my self-worth. I think that I am a creative person. I hope that my work will facilitate more people's lives and make more people's lives more colourful.
I hope to get a graduate degree and use what I have learned to create products or services that meet social values. Now that we are in the information age, communication of information is particularly important. Only better communication between people can create a better future. And I hope to make communication between people more efficient. I'm currently learning the language at Curtin English School.
If I can successfully cross the language barrier, I will be fortunate to work with many excellent professors. I think they will not only show me the fascinating aspects of Curtin University but after two years of study, I will greatly improve my understanding of this communication course.
