This major is designed for those who wish to teach years 7 to 12. You may specialise in either one or two curriculum areas, depending on your study background, and will be qualified to teach in those subject area/s of the secondary school curriculum. Curriculum areas include: English The Arts (Visual Arts, Drama and Media) Mathematics Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Human Biology, Psychology, Earth and Environmental Science) Humanities and Social Sciences (Economics, Geography, History, Politics and Law). The Secondary Education Major is part of the Master of Teaching which is designed for people seeking to attain an initial teacher education qualification in order to register as a teacher in Australia and any other countries that recognise an Australian teaching qualification.  The course may also be suitable for qualified teachers wishing to gain and additional formal qualification (if needed) to convert to Secondary Education.
