About this course

Outline Outline

The Master of Business Administration (Advanced) is an extended version of Curtin's flagship MBA program that gives you additional industry project experience. It is aimed towards professionals with significant work experience who want to progress to senior management roles.

The course content is applicable to a range of industries. From our Perth city campus location in the heart of the Perth Central Business District, you will learn to devise and apply innovative business strategies that help your organisation to thrive in complex and volatile economic environments.

Core subjects include economics, finance, organisational behaviour, strategy, international business and marketing. To ensure this course is aligned with changes to industry - including large for-profit corporations, SMEs and NFPs - we've also included units in executive financial decision-making, global business sustainability and organisational strategy.

You'll then be able to choose one of one of four areas of business expertise in which to specialise:

  • Business Administration: In this specialisation you'll gain the ability to create and evaluate innovative ideas and strategise for unpredictable business environments.
  • Digital Finance: In this specialisation you'll g
ain the digital finance skills that are fundamental to contemporary business and entrepreneurship.
  • Energy Transition: In this specialisation you'll gain advanced knowledge of oil, gas and energy management and learn how to adapt business strategies to energy sector changes.
  • Leadership: In this specialisation you'll explore the philosophy and ethics of leadership and current and future leadership challenges.

As an advanced course, this MBA program will extend your research capabilities, by requiring you to work on a practical project in a workplace setting. You'll liaise with an industry partner to apply key business theories, concepts and techniques to solve a real-world challenge and develop real skills in business design, report writing, written communication and critical thinking.

You'll also be connected with an industry network support partner to facilitate your business networks in Australia and be able to attend numerous networking events. These include our popular six-weekly MBA Engage events that will introduce you to expert industry and academic speakers.
