About this course

In this course you will choose to specialise in continence and women’s health or musculoskeletal physiotherapy. You will further your clinical decision-making skills through the use of statistical analysis, including the examination of various forms of statistical testing. The rest of your studies will comprise specialised coursework units and clinical practice. Continence and Women's Health Stream This stream will provide you with the opportunity to become an expert clinician in women's health physiotherapy and its related areas of practice. In this major you will develop clinical skills in the assessment and management of conditions which are unique, common or serious to women, or require special interventions in women.   You will develop particular expertise in the management of pelvic floor dysfunction and its presentations, including bladder and bowel dysfunction, disorders of the pelvic organ and pelvic girdle support, sexual dysfunction and pelvic pain.   View stream details Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy Stream The Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy Stream is designed to enhance knowledge, skill and clinical competencies in musculoskeletal physiotherapy practice. In this stream you can learn: advanced examination and treatment, advanced patient management and clinical communication skills through evidence-based practice and contemporary clinical practice methods.   View stream details Please note: Participation is obligatory in laboratory classes which require appropriate disrobing when acting as clients in the peer group, and physically manipulating patients including lifting and supporting people with disabilities.
