My name is Swan Aung and I am commencing student at Charles Sturt University for a pathway to further postgraduate study in information technology.

Graduate Certificate in Industry Computing is one of a unique series of online master's degrees that CSU has partnered with IT masters to develop. And I may be eligible for up to six subjects credit for prior study. I am passionate about my field of study because this is a unique opportunity with a practical focus on industry needs.

The Graduate Certificate in Industry Computing is designed to give me the technical knowledge and communication skills to succeed as a computing or information technology professional. The Graduate Certificate in Industry Computing is helping me realise my ambitions by preparing me for the world's most in-demand IT careers with the guidance of experienced academic staff and industry-based lecturers who are in touch with the very latest industry trends.

I can complete all the subjects online without the need to attend on-campus lectures or residential schools because CSU is supported by a host of educational technologies that include video lectures, laboratory simulations and chat rooms. I should expect to spend 10 to 12 hours per week working on assignments and assigned readings, tutorial assistance, individual or group research, forum activity, attending lectures and examinations. Subjects will take between 16-40 hours to complete and I will be supported by a subject coordinator who will guide me through my study.

My education is comprised of 4 restricted electives made up of any 2 industry elective subjects plus any 2 academic elective subjects. As I mentioned earlier, I may be eligible for some credit for industry elective subjects. I may only be required to take 2 academic elective subjects. Therefore, within a short period of time, I could finish my degree. It is what I am expecting. I hope to do well with my postgraduate qualification because the longer I study, the better qualified I will be within a shorter period of time. The skills attained by studying a postgraduate degree will strengthen my CV and certainly help me to contribute my skills for the global community.
