    <p>The Bachelor of Media (Honours) is a one-year advanced undergraduate degree for high achieving students which may be undertaken upon completion of an undergraduate degree in Media.

    Recognition of prior learning

    You may be eligible for up to 72 Units of Credit depending on your background:

    For the Commerce component, up to 24 Units of Credit may be awarded based on your previous Business studies (at Bachelor level or higher).

    For the Engineering Science component, between 24 and 48 Units of Credit may be awarded:

    • If you have a four year engineering degree that includes a final year capstone design or research project and a project management course you will be given 24 Units of Credit
    • If you have a four year engineering degree that includes a final year capstone design or research project and a project management course, AND at least 3 years of professional engineering work experience you will be given 24 Units of Credit
    • If you have an Australian 4-year Engineering Degree or an equivalent degree accredited under the Washington Accord you will be given 48 Units of Credit
    • Recognition of Prior Learning may be obtained for other courses upon application.

    You'll be notified of the credits in your official letter of offer. The amount of credit awarded will reduce your overall degree duration by up to one and a half years.

    Adjustment Factors


    We offer a range of adjustment factor schemes that reward students for academic performance and extra-curricular achievements. These schemes also take into account a range of personal and educational disadvantages that may have affected your studies.

    HSC Plus
    This scheme rewards students who perform well in Year 12 subjects that are relevant to their preferred UNSW degree. You may be awarded up to five points.

    Elite Athletes, Performers and Leaders (EAPL)
    This program recognises achievements in the areas of sport, academia, leadership and music at an elite level. You may be eligible for up to five points.

    Educational Access Scheme (EAS)
    Factors such as illness, financial hardship, language difficulties or attending a particular school can mean you don't always get the best possible marks in Years 11 and 12. If one of these situations applies to you, submit an application for the Educational Access Scheme (EAS) via UAC. Eligible students can receive between 1 and 10 points towards their chosen UNSW degree.

    The Faculty of Engineering Admission Scheme (FEAS) is a possible alternative admission pathway for the admission of domestic undergraduate students to UNSW Faculty of Engineering degree programs (including the BSc Computer Science and the BSc Food Science (Hons), who do not meet the published Guaranteed Entry selection rank.     Entry into this degree requires a recognised bachelor's degree with an equivalent of a UNSW 65 weighted average mark (WAM). Entry isn't dependent upon a degree related to the creative disciplines, given that the programs aim to enable practitioners from a wide range of industry sectors to integrate visualisation, simulation and immersive environments into their work contexts.

    Recognition of Prior Learning

    Reduce the duration of your degree
    You can shorten the duration of your program by applying for RPL for credit. This may include 5 years or more industry experience, formal or informal learning, and approved UNSW Art & Design Short Courses. RPL is usually considered when applying to join a program.

    The Master of Simulation and Immersive Technologies which is usually 11 courses or 1.7 years full time can an be shortened by the equivalent of 5 elective courses to a minimum of 6 core courses. This could be completed in as little as 2 terms or 0.7 years if undertaken full time.

    Moving from Graduate Certificate to Masters
    Students in the Graduate Certificate of Simulation & Immersive Technologies who achieve a weighted average mark (WAM) of 65/100 at the end of their study may choose to transfer into the full Master of Simulation, and Immersive Technologies program. This means that if you maintain a credit average grade in your study in the Graduate Certificate, you can continue into a full Masters program without having to hold a Bachelors degree.

    HSC Plus
    This scheme rewards students who perform well in Year 12 subjects that are relevant to their preferred UNSW degree. You may be awarded up to five points.

    Elite Athletes, Performers and Leaders (EAPL)
    This program recognises achievements in the areas of sport, academia, leadership and music at an elite level. You may be eligible for up to five points.

    Educational Access Scheme (EAS)
    Factors such as illness, financial hardship, language difficulties or attending a particular school can mean you don't always get the best possible marks in Years 11 and 12. If one of these situations applies to you, submit an application for the Educational Access Scheme (EAS) via UAC. Eligible students can receive between 1 and 10 points towards their chosen UNSW degree.

    Admission pathways

    To gain entry into the Graduate Diploma in City Planning, you'll need a bachelor degree with a credit average or above (Weighted Average Mark 65+).

    If you don't meet these requirements, you may be eligible to study the Graduate Certificate in City Planning, then continue with advanced standing into the Diploma. This will be at the discretion of the Program Director or Academic Coordinator who assesses applications on a case-by-case basis.

    Progression pathways

    Once you've completed the Graduate Diploma in City Planning you can apply for entry into the Master's program with credit points applied for courses already completed.
