    Selection into an Honours degree will depend upon high academic merit and the availability of two supervisors who are suitable in relation to the student's desired research topic. At least one potential supervisor should be consulted by the student prior to applying, should give their in-principle support for the project discussed, and should be named in the student's application.

    Acceptance into the Honours program is subject to the approval of the Course Director and is at the discretion of the Head of the School in which the requested primary supervisor is located.

    • Completion of Charles Sturt University's Graduate Diploma of Psychology within the previous five years with a Grade Point Average of 5.5 or higher OR
    • Completion of four coursework subjects (except for PSY437) in Charles Sturt's Postgraduate Diploma of Psychology within the previous 12 months, with a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 5.5 or higher.

    NOTE: Students who have completed Charles Sturt's Postgraduate Diploma of Psychology are not eligible to apply for admission into the Bachelor of Social Science (Psychology) (Honours). A fail grade in a level 4 psychology subject will automatically preclude a student from being admitted to the program.

    • Contract with an approved, participating hospital as a student midwife at 0.6-0.8 full-time equivalent (FTE) for the duration of the course

    It is a requirement of this course that students have a current employment contract. If a student's employment contract has expired and they have not completed the clinical subject of MID448 it is the responsibility of the student to have their contract extended to enable completion of this subject.

    Students may still undertake their theory subjects if their contract has expired only if they have successfully passed MID448 and have completed all clinical competencies.
