Short course or microcredential

The Australian College of Nursing’s (ACN) National Immunisation Program for Healthcare Practitioners course is based on the National Immunisation Education Framework for Health Professionals (2017) and has been accredited by the ANMAC subsidiary Health Education Services Australia (HESA) to deliver this course. HESA is the National body for health education accreditation and ACN is the first institution to have its Immunisation course accredited.

Graduate Diploma

This course prepares registered nurses for registration as a midwife in Australia. Students complete practical clinical placements at ECU's partner hospitals, and will also have the opportunity to provide continuity of care with at least ten women throughout their pregnancy.

Graduate Certificate

Provides knowledge and skills to Australian Registered Midwives who wish to extend their scope of practice to include ordering and interpreting investigative tests, as well as the safe and effective prescribing of scheduled medicines.

Masters (Research)

This research Masters prepares students to be independent researchers with the ability to develop and implement a research proposal relevant to midwifery. The course is directed both at students with an interest in research and those planning a research career.

Masters (Coursework)

The University of Newcastle's Master of Midwifery (Graduate Entry) is for registered nurses wishing to gain a midwifery qualification and will see you graduate as a registered midwife with specialised theoretical knowledge and technical skills for high-quality midwifery practice.

Graduate Certificate

The University of Newcastle's Graduate Certificate in Midwifery (Re-Entry to Practice) is designed for midwives who have been out of practice for between five and ten years.
