Since graduating with a Bachelor of Arts (Journalism, Media and Communications) from UTAS, Karl Mathiesen now contributes to the ‘fearless journalism’ of one of the world’s largest media platforms as a London-based freelance environmental journalist.

Stories that you write automatically have a really serious platform, and in the end, it comes back to the stories and how many people read them. I spent Christmas night, 2014, on Nauru. We sat with many, many refugees wiht the most devastating stories. It was the hardest thing I've ever done."
