What you will learn

Upon completion of the Graduate Certificate in Arts (Specialisation/s) (AQF Level 8) graduates will be able to:

  1. Acquire, critically evaluate, reflect and synthesise specialist knowledge in one of the humanities, social sciences or law disciplines
  2. Critically analyse a challenging problem, identify research questions, acknowledge different perspectives and demonstrate advanced understanding of theoretical concepts in a specific area of study
  3. Communicate disciplinary perspectives and knowledge effectively and ethically, to specialist and non-specialist audiences using written, oral and visual means
  4. Demonstrate knowledge, independence, skills and judgement in planning, problem solving and decision making in professional practice and/or scholarship
  5. Work effectively, responsibly, respectfully and safely in individual and/or team contexts
  6. Demonstrate self-management, flexibility, initiative and resilience in readiness for diverse workplace demands

Course structure

These course rules and specifications apply to students commencing the course from 2018.

Students undertaking the Graduate Certificate in Arts (Specialisation) are required to complete 50 credit points taken from the relevant specialisation schedule.
