Background: This project seeks to develop a novel bio-hydrometallurgical process for recovering metal values from e-waste and thus reduce the amount of e-waste that is landfilled or exported and associated harmful environmental impacts.

Open to:

  • Domestic students who are enrolled in a PhD within the School of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at the University of Sydney by the Scholarship application deadline.
  • Applicants must have an honours degree in science or engineering and demonstrate a strong interest in granular material and bio-hydrometallurgical metal recovery from e-waste.
  • The eligible student must have an offer of Research Training Program Stipend Scholarship, University of Sydney Postgraduate Awards (UPA) or other similar scholarship.

Value: The Scholarship will provide an annual supplementary stipend amount of $7,000 per annum (fixed rate).

Duration: For up to three years, subject to satisfactory academic performance. No extension is possible.
