About this course

Innovative and interdisciplinary, the Master of Wildlife Health and Population Management will grow your prospects in wildlife-related jobs from zoos to not-for-profits to National Parks. Taught by experts from academia, industry, and government in some of the world's most ecologically diverse settings, the course will give you the skills to tackle complex challenges that face our planet's wildlife. The one-and-a-half-year Wildlife Masters is the ideal next step for graduates with a background in biology, ecology, conservation or veterinary medicine. Bringing together the disciplines of animal health and wildlife population management in a truly holistic way, it will give you expertise in conservation techniques for native fauna, diagnosis and management of wildlife health, and management of native and pest species populations. The Masters offers you maximum flexibility so you can take full advantage of the incredible opportunities available in the program. With a combination of core and elective subjects plus a research project in your area of interest, the degree can be tailored to suit you. And, classes are held in locations across the Greater Sydney area, Southern Highlands of New South Wales and at the Western Plains Zoo in Dubbo so that you get maximum hands-on experience. The Wildlife Masters is taught by exceptional staff who are highly regarded and actively involved in the field. So you won"t just graduate with a Masters; you"ll have a network of contacts across the field of wildlife health and wildlife management that can mentor you and help you win jobs or further your studies. Our graduates have gone on to jobs in private industry, not-for-profit organisations, zoos and wildlife parks, academia, and government at all levels, from applied work in State and National Parks to policy development at the minister's level.
