If you have already completed either a Graduate Certificate in Clinical Nursing or a Graduate Diploma of Clinical Nursing, you may wish to enrol in this Master of Nursing program. Completed over two semesters you can choose an area of research relevant to your specialist nursing practice.
The program is open to you if you are a Registered Nurse who has a previous degree or you have accumulated a wealth of experience in nursing but do not have a degree.
English Language RequirementsYou must be able to demonstrate two years of full-time secondary, vocational or tertiary level of study in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Republic of Ireland, South Africa, United Kingdom or the United States of America. If you do not meet these requirements you will need to sit the Academic IELTS exam and achieve a score of at least 7.0 overall and 7.0 in each sub-section (reading, writing, listening and speaking) to qualify for entry into the Master of Nursing (Clinical Nursing). This applies to Permanent Residents and Australian citizens whose first language is not English and have not completed two years full-time academic study in Australia. IELTS results will need to be verified by the Admissions Office before an offer of a place can be made. The Admissions Office reserves the right to ask for IELTS results from any applicant. Taking a Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma or Master of Nursing is a useful career pathway for Registered Nurses who wish to formalise their qualifications or develop a specialist knowledge in a particular area of healthcare.
Our Master of Nursing (Clinical Nursing) can be completed over two semesters of part-time study. You should have already completed a Graduate Certificate in Clinical Nursing or Graduate Diploma of Clinical Nursing at Notre Dame's Fremantle Campus. You generally choose a thesis subject relevant to your specialist area of nursing practice so you should discuss your study program with the school's postgraduate coordinator beforehand.
As a Master's student, you will be allocated a research supervisor who will help you choose a relevant research subject and oversee the completion of the program.
You will choose a research area relevant to your specialty of nursing practice.
