Adore Beauty is now Australia's leading online shopping destination for skin care, hair care and makeup, with over 165 brands (such as Kryolan, BECCA, evo, O&M and Alpha-H) and 10,000-plus beauty care products. Adore is also rapidly expanding; we recently launched into international markets with Borderfree.
Kate Morris and Adore Beauty are proud to announce the Adore Beauty Women in Tech Scholarship, which aims to provide one of Australia's future female business leaders with a $2,000 boost to their tuition fees.
The winning applicant will also receive a month long paid internship at the Adore Beauty head office in Melbourne, where you will gain valuable insight into how a leading brand gains its competitive advantage and shadow the IT team.
Kate Morris, CEO and founder of adorebeauty.com.au, started with Australia's first beauty e-commerce site in the year 2000 in a garage in Melbourne when she was just 21. Kate had no prior business or coding experience and was armed with nothing but $12,000 and high spirits.
As a busy and successful businesswoman with a strong ethos on supporting young women, the main motivation behind this brand new scholarship is "to support young women in their careers, especially encouraging them to build the technical knowledge that has helped to underpin my business innovation".
For your chance at winning the $2,000 prize towards your tuition fees and a month long PAID internship, you must be within the following criteria:
- A university student identifying as female, in second or third year
- Studying computer science as a course or as a module part of another course
- At an Australian tertiary institution
Applicants must provide evidence of the above - a current student card and any document with details of the course will suffice - and answer the short essay question in 250 words or less: "What is your motivation to succeed?"
Applications close 10th September 2017.
