About this course

The Graduate Certificate in Data and Cyber Management is targeted at leaders who are looking to equip themselves with the knowledge and skills needed to address the importance of effective cyber management in any organisation. The Graduate Certificate gives leaders an opportunity to explore contemporary and global data security strategies, become familiar with the legal and political spectrum of data security and provide the tools to affect a positive organisation-wide data security culture.

The Graduate Certificate is designed to provide the leader with sufficient knowlegde of the different programming languages, systems and infrastructures combined with both local and globally recognised strategies to successfully liaise with various technical experts and stakeholders to make informed management decisions. This course will clearly identify the various data risks to, and the responsibilities of, every organisaion with an online presence.

This course is offered in partnership with Ducere Global Business School and is delivered fully online through a bespoke learning management system supplemented by various rich media and modern case studies. Webinars conducted by academics and industry experts will draw on industry experiences and encourage students to apply the theory to their own professional contexts. Students will also be encouraged to attend in-person events every two months, hosted by industry partners. These value-add events will focus on integrating the academic learnings of the course with real-world application, including workshops led by academics and industry experts.

Entry requirements

A candidate shall:

(a) hold an AQF Level 7 Bachelor qualification or above; or

(b) provide a Statement/s of Service from their employer/s documenting seven years full-time work experience including at least three years relevant full-time work experience in a dedicated IT/supervisory/management/consulting role.*

*Relevant professional experience refer to a position of responsibility in any organisational or industry context.

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:
