About this course

With one in four young people suffering serious mental ill-health*, there has never been a more crucial time to be at the forefront of youth mental health.

The Graduate Certificate in Managing Youth Self-Harm and Suicide is a practical course designed to equip the mental health workforce with the tools to reshape these statistics and support at-risk youth.

Developed by the University of Melbourne's Centre for Youth Mental Health in collaboration with Orygen, this in-depth program is the only graduate course in the world dedicated entirely to managing self-harm and suicide in young people. You'll cover the latest theory, research and evidence-based practice guidelines on the detection, prevention and management of self-harm and suicide-related behaviours in young people, and learn how to make a difference to at-risk youth.
