Applicants need to provide curriculum vitae and an employer's reference and will be required to demonstrate the ability to undertake graduate study via an interview with the Course Co-ordinator.
The course was developed in consultation with industry leaders, in response to the pressing needs of the sector. It comprises four core units covering organisational change and supported decision-making, as well as supporting social and economic participation of people with disability and positive behaviour change.
Career opportunities exist in disability services as support workers or service providers under the NDIS; or in policy and advocacy roles. Graduates will accumulate credit towards the Graduate Diploma of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities should they wish to pursue further study.
To be eligible to receive the Graduate Certificate in Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, students must complete the equivalent of 4 units (48 credit points), comprising all core units.
