About this course

The program has been designed to provide a basis for understanding the global business environment and the role of the manager within. The course is particularly suited to those seeking a career with organisations that operate in the global economy. This could include export/import companies, joint ventures, and public sector areas involved in international trade and conglomerates with subsidiaries reaching around the globe. The course is suitable for both new graduates as well as those graduates already in the workforce seeking to move from the domestic business sector into the international business environment.  You have the opportunity to choose elective subjects offered as part of the course or from other areas of the University. The subjects are designed to explore both the macro and micro of international business environments, examining the functional strategies of multinational corporations in areas including marketing, management, finance, and human resource management. Each student must be a cognate student. A ‘cognate’ student is a student who has previously studied management and business at an undergraduate level or in a postgraduate certificate or diploma. La Trobe can provide advice on whether a student’s prior studies are sufficient for them to be deemed a cognate student for entry into the Course.
